Copy of letter to Hugh Percy (3rd Duke of Northumberland) stating that the Duke's offer of a refracting telescope of great power, to Cambridge Observatory would be a valuable gift. JH has won the gold medal of the Academy of Sciences, and 635 francs, for his work on double stars. Sends his congratulations. The medal will be presented by the president.
Has glanced over the papers and made a few corrections. Suggests one point for alteration.
The first evening party is on Saturday, and hopes JH will be able to come.
