The Darwin Correspondence Project is publishing letters written by and to the naturalist Charles Darwin (1809–1882). Complete transcripts of letters are being made available through the Project’s website (www.darwinproject.ac.uk) after publication in the ongoing print edition of The Correspondence of Charles Darwin (Cambridge University Press 1985–). Health weak. Not worth TM’s time to visit.
Criticises article by TM. "Such a manner of treating the work of other observers did not appear to me the way to encourage truth."
Does not understand TM’s views on sex and vitality.
Agrees no real "essences" in genera, only broken groups of species.
Doubts whether sudden and great variations often occur.
