Has been absent from home, which accounts for his belated reply. Comments on JH's difficulties in relation to W. H. Hopkins's memoir on the external temperature of the earth. JH's son is progressing well.
Has received the report on his paper on glaciers. Comments on one or two points. Hopes it will create interest in the subject.
Has written to Edward Sabine about the unauthorized use of JH's name on a B.A.A.S. petition for uniformity of weights and measures.
