The Charles Darwin Collection
The Darwin Correspondence Project is publishing letters written by and to the naturalist Charles Darwin (1809–1882). Complete transcripts of letters are being made available through the Project’s website (www.darwinproject.ac.uk) after publication in the ongoing print edition of The Correspondence of Charles Darwin (Cambridge University Press 1985–). Müller has sent Chips [from a German workshop (1867–75)] and a boring defence against WDW’s attack. GHD feels he is maligned for using the weight of CD’s name in his Contemporary Review article. CD says Müller has misinterpreted a letter from CD as supporting him in his controversy with WDW.
Assures CD that space will be reserved in the April Contemporary Review for W. D. Whitney’s article and solicits an introductory section from C.D.
Hopes WDW will come to Down.
CD asks her to tell him how sorry he is not to be there to see Whitney today. He hopes that Whitney will give him another chance when next in England.
