John Lubbock wishes only to explain his system, so there is no reason why the R.A.S. should not listen to him. Certain conditions must be met. Troubles with the R.A.S.M.N.

Adds list of names for consideration as foreign associates [of the R.A.S.], including Americans. Changes in John Lubbock's requirements for his project.
Has sent out a number of circulars to JH as a member of the Royal Observatory's Board of Visitors.
Suggests John Lubbock's improvements in calculating planetary perturbations be discussed at a R.A.S. meeting. Plans to bring subject before the Council.
Thanks JH for suggestion on his method of Great Circle sailing. Further enquires over some cartographic matters.
Thanking him for his hospitality.
Will look into the affair of the overpayment of the telescope. Regarding geographical and hydrographical desiderata for the Admiralty Manual.
Is honored at George Eden's (2nd Baron Auckland) request for meteorological directions for atmospheric waves and barometric fluctuations. Will there be any engravings in the Admiralty Manual? The three annual barometric movements have occurred this year.
Has repaired the damage to his equatorial. Observed another of Wilhelm Struve's double stars last evening. Compares some of their star readings.
Has just seen his letter [apparently requesting an article on mineralogy for the Admiralty Manual] on returning to his office. Is very busy at the moment with a survey of coal for George Eden (Earl of Auckland), but could probably help, given time.
It appears that Mineralogy has been assigned to him in the new manual. Comments on this and would like to know who will be writing the chapter on Geology as it is likely to overlap.
Congratulations on success [of JH's Cape Results], and happy new year. Encloses letter from Austrian ambassador with Emperor's testimonial to JH. Exchanged private notes with Count Jarnac regarding French king's intention to reward JH. Hopes that British government will permit JH to accept special honor from Louis Phillipe.
Acknowledges receipt of JH's Cape Results by Royal Society of Sciences of Göttingen.
Thanks JH for the gift of JH's Cape Results.
Gratitude for receipt of JH's Cape Results by university library.
Thanks JH for the gift of the Cape Results, and comments on his impending move to Lausanne.
Gratitude for receipt of JH's Cape Results [transmitted via George Bancroft].
Gratitude for receipt of JH's Cape Results by observatory of Central High School of Philadelphia.
Error in Leonhard Euler's value for Bernoulli's 21st number. Promotes HW's method of continued subtraction as a reliable means of proving accuracy of values for higher Bernoulli numbers.
Destroy all HW's letters claiming errors in Leonhard Euler's values for Bernoulli's numbers. Mr. Hensley of Trinity College found weakness in HW's continued subtraction method. Clarifies symbols HW used to represent P. S. Laplace's expressions of Bernoulli's numbers.
