Received royal warrant to appoint commission of inquiry into state of Cambridge University. Asks JH to attend between 16 and 22 Oct. Also inviting Adam Sedgwick and John Romilly. Wants joint meeting with Oxford inquiry commission, headed by Bishop of Norwich.
JH is traveling in France and cannot respond to summons from [John Graham,] Bishop of Chester to attend October meeting of Cambridge University Commissioners. John Russell was notified in advance of JH's absence.
JH is traveling in Europe and unable to attend meeting of Cambridge University Commissioners on 16 or 22 Oct.
Cambridge University Commission met formally for first time today at Treasury Chambers.
