The Sir John Herschel Collection
The preparation of the print Calendar of the Correspondence of Sir John Herschel (Michael J. Crowe ed., David R. Dyck and James J. Kevin assoc. eds, Cambridge, England: Cambridge Univ. Press, 1998, viii + 828 pp) which was funded by the National Science Foundation, took ten years. It was accomplished by a team of seventeen professors, visiting scholars, graduate students, advanced undergraduates, and staff working at the University of Notre Dame.
The first online version of Calendar was created in 2009 by Dr Marvin Bolt and Steven Lucy, working at the Webster Institute of the Adler Planetarium, and it is that data that has now been reformatted for incorporation into Ɛpsilon.

Will deduct money owed for meat from D's rent, up to William Herschel's death. Rent after 24 Aug. 1822 must be paid in cash to Lady Mary Herschel.
Lady Mary Herschel asks that S referee dispute with tenant farmer Mr. Davenport, if latter should leave before lease expires.
Has delayed answering his letters owing to the health of his father. Grieves to hear of the health of FF. Board of Longitude are fully behind FF. Does not agree with some of FF's proposals.

Regarding the Cambridge affair. Has had a letter from the Edinburgh Society of Arts.
Requests that HS look for a shipment of a clock and send it on to J. J. Littrow, and inform the maker in London, Robert Molyneux, that HS has done this. JH sends along John Pond's catalogue of star position differences.
Has just heard that the ship carrying JL's clock arrived at Hamburg on the 5th. Gives the name of the Bank to which payment is to be made. Has used his Theory of Comets in a paper.
