Urges WB to give his vote "and exert any influence which you properly can" in favour of CD’s nephew, Henry Parker, a fellow of Oriel, at the next balloting at the Athenaeum.
Asks WED to visit Winchester soon and collect Utricularia for him
Thinks EH’s translation of Cross and self-fertilisation [1877] is excellent.
Would like him to do Forms of flowers, but Reinwald is afraid to have it translated in the present political state of France.
Pleased EH is translating Forms of flowers. Agrees "cowslip" and "oxlip" ought to be translated by their scientific names.
CD grateful to EH for making his works known in France.
