Lucy seems to be as silent as the grave but I think she likes listening to other people & as to Sophy if she wdn't try to talk at all how nice she wd be!
I am going on with my French lessons & have got back all my facility in talking if not a little more; I explain things to my master & never stop because it is difficult. I have political talks too with my garçon who was in Bourbaks's army— but he's a Savoyard & talks odd sort of French.
I don't think I've any more to say & it is'nt very cheerful what I have said but its the terruth as Mr. Chadband wd. say.—
I send an anecdote for Father wh. Elliot sent me & I've no doubt he might use it if he liked
