My dear George
See enclosed— I have Lewis in the house disinterring such loads of old boxes, shelves, drawers, bedsteads &c—wh. Lewis is going to rid me of for some small sum—
After you were gone on Sunday came Sir J. Mrs Mul. & the Tyndalls pleasant; but I was at Church & so missed them, not that I cared—
Yesterday I saw old Brooks & was amused to find how much news he picks up. He was deeply interested in Lefroy's trial—also in Uncle Eras. fortune which he seemed to know all about; but could not make out who Caroline Sarah was.
Also about Bessy coming home without being shot—also about the new land & wall.
He wd not own that any one read the newspaper to him—
yours Dear G. | E. D
