From Emma Darwin to G. H. Darwin [16 June 1882]

Leith Hill Place

My dear George

I think At Caroline would be very much pleased if you offered to come here for a day on your return from Worthing   She has a great regard for you & enjoys your conversation particularly. You will find everything quite cheerful & except for Bernard you wd do as well without us though I shd have liked your coming— The extreme cold is much somewhat mitigated & it is bright & pleasant.

Frank comes today & I have some doubts whether there is another spare room. We go home on the 24th & then I have a week before I go to Ellen Tollet for a week; but Frank & Bessy & B. will be keeping house—All my visits have had to be dove-tailed or I shd have liked to have spread them out more

Bernard is very happy with Meggy. What a job Thomson & Tait turns out to be—

yours my dear George— | E. D—

Please to give my very kind remembrances to Mrs Galton her husband—
