My dear George
We did very well on Monday— The Hookers liking a quiet day. Sir J. was a good deal overcome on arriving. He is very fond of little Jo. who lollops all over him in B's style— I had a nice talk w. him yesterday— Frank & B. arrived at dinner time yesterday. Isabel Akers is here & she & Bessy got up at 5.30 this morning to see the Comet, but w. no success— She is v. pleasant & nice & says that Mrs M'Lennan has really taken a turn & comes often to their house & actually went shopping to Bromley— Jo. is now having a play w. B. which he has been most anxious for—
We are expecting L. H. P. at 1 o'clock & Lady D. at 12— So she will be safe off before. The Hookers go at 11– & it is a beaut day— Such a storm we had yesterday— I thought trees wd be blown down & it did blow a trap door off the roof—
Now I must go to my guests at breakfast—
I am afraid you have been very unwell.
Yours dear G. E D
