From Emma Darwin to G. H. Darwin [19 December 1883]

The Grove

Wednesday

My dear George

I think you move to Whittinghame tomorrow   I wish you had our lovely weather calm & sunshiny & no frost—

My cough is nothing but I make slow progress as I feel pulled down   I hope however to be all right in a few days

Leo & B. came on Monday, & make themselves comf with very little to do

L. & F. play tennis (very badly both of them as L. says)— Ellen & F. are gone home but she keeps quite poorly—

Horace & Ida go to spend Sat. & Sunday at Mr Leaf's near Leatherhead—

No more today so Goodnight my dear G.

E. D

Thursday— My letter failed yesterday. I had a good day & went downstairs. I enclose Horace which I dont' want back—
