My dear George
Bessy met Dr Foster at Mrs Prothero's yesterday, & after asking whether you had gone to Hunstanton, he said he thought you had better not delay, but take Maud to London, from whence you could come up & down here, or to Brighton— There can be no magic in Brighton over any other warm & dry sea place—
I dare say he may have said this to you; but I thought it better to tell you— I am not very well today & shall not appear, only ask Mrs Luard to pay me a visit in the study—
I hope Maud will be able to come, but she must not feel herself tied.
Yours affectly | E. D—
