From Emma Darwin to G. H. Darwin [16 July 1889]

Down, Beckenham, Kent.

Tuesday

My dear George

Hen. has rather got moths on the brain & has caught several in her room here— I enclose the corpse of one as a specimen— Do you know a clothes moth?

She said that Mr Jenkinson was learned in the matter. After her very serious experience at 31 I am afraid of letting things go on indefinitely; & I suppose I had better have a man from Heal's to investigate (Certainly if this proves the bad sort).

It will be very nice to have you on Sat— We shall have nobody but the Parsons, so you will be a great help—

The Sutherlands called yesterday, & I was glad to see him looking fat & well & very cheerful—

yours dear G— | w. love to Maud | E. D—

Mrs Steuart is v. m. pleased with your picture of me—

Tell us your train when you know—

I shall have quiet talks w. you in my study.
