Dear George
Bessy brought the alarming news that Maud & Miss Austin were thinking of going out in canoes— I know that Maud can swim in a bathing dress but it must be very different in her clothes. Mrs Stanford once got in a complete fix under the branches of a tree & Mr Shipley was saying yesterday, how difficult it was to get loose— I hope you will act prudence for them, unless they consent to keep to the shallow part on the other side of the island & there they wd only be smothered in mud—
I wish Gwen & Boy wd come to dinner today— please ask Maud to send a verbal answer—
Yours dear G. | E. D—
