My dear George
I am afraid we must give up your visit Ellen is so unwell—
She was making no progress, but as Frances was to go & play with the little Lubbocks, on she was inclined to take her & Frank went with her— After a short call she came home apparently not tired & went out in the Bath chair—
In the night she was taken w. faintness & Fr was m. alarmed— They gave hr brandy & it soon went off & Dr Scott found her pulse pretty good & left her better— In the afternoon she became sick & we sent for Dr Scott—who slept here— Frank & Louisa dividing the night & giving her milk at short intervals. Dr Scott was not called up— Louisa tells me she was quite comf. as long as she stayed w. her & liked the food—
Ida is the greatest comfort. We hope to have Dr Moore on Sunday—
You shall have a post card every day; but I have little hope of her gaining strength quickly. I do not quite give up hopes of your visit but by tomorrow I shall positively be able to decide—
12 o clock— Dr Scott left this morning well satisfied with her pulse. He will come again this evg—
yours dear G. & Maud | E. D—

A letter from L. from Lake Superior & a tel from Vancouver—where they arrived on 22nd— no mention of cholera— you shall see them
