My dear George
You will see why I send you Snows letter wh. please burn— You will be surprized to see what pleasure your slight notice of little Jim has given her—
I am glad she keeps in view the evil of too much fault finding, tho' I am convinced she uses it too much—also the good of his being able to feel he has some character to lose—
L. had not m. politics to tell— They had spent the Sat & Sun. w. Sir H & Lady Roscoe, meeting the Courtnays—- He does not get on w. Mr C. tho' he has a gt respect for him— W. E. G. outdid himself on Wed. in futile discursiveness L. & B. rather dread their stay at Lich. where they go tomorrow— The strike puts them in an unpleasant position—but I hope it is subsiding— We had an unpleasant muggy day when Maud was sitting out on the Common— It is provoking the roads are so rough—
Leo. & Bernard practised hours on the lawn at Golf. They left us yesterday— & B. went to see Jackson, whom he found so m. overworked that he thinks of leaving—but I hope he will not be in a hurry—
The Pattricks have got away to the Grove after great difficulties & are v. comf—
Yours my dear G— | w. love to Maud | E. Darwin
