May 2d.
My dearest Mrs Darwin.
When George came yesterday he told me that today, would be your birthday & I write to send you love from William & Sally as well as myself.
What a comfort & blessing you have been to so many! To your children, & then to your children in law!
We cannot thank you enough.
Those wonderfully happy days with you and my dearest Mr Darwin at Down, are always so fresh in my mind.
We [live] in such memories & they are among the precious possessions of this world. I hope you are feeling remarkably well today.
With much love to Bessy | Always | Your loving | Sara Darwin
