From Emma Darwin to W. E. Darwin [27 January 1860]

My dear William

It is very pleasant to think that we shall see you so soon. I am going to London on Monday for 2 or 3 days so I want you to join us there & get a bed at Mrs Nutts or Uncle Ras or Aunt Cath will be best but I will ask her as I think she would be glad to have you. Etty is also there & you wd be sure to be wanting to go to town soon so it may save you a journey. Perhaps we may look at some pictures together. Your father comes home today & we are very jolly with no governess, only Mr Norman comes to teach them every afternoon which they like very much. Dicky is very charming still.

Miss Pugh comes on Sat. for a week.

Goodbye my dear old man | yours E.D
