My dear Mamma
We have had Michaelmas Exams on Thursday, Friday & Saturday; so we just came back in time. I have made rather a muff of this exam somehow. Staw hats are not yet done away with nor is hocky begun. Bathing is stopt and washing come in
Yesterday we went on exeat to Miss Thornton's to see Effy and Dot; now I am going to give a very minute description of every thing; first of all we went onto the common and grubbed for caterpillars &c. and then we went off to Miss Thornton's house and never showed up; the was nobody at home but Miss Henrietta Cinet!!!! and Miss Thornton; we talked a little and then went and played crochet, we had very odd sides me and Effy on one side and Miss Thornton the younger and Hope on the other, & George a party spiteful to every body My side licked. We also played at Aunt Sally which is much fun; had a very good dinner and were back by 8. PM
But I must leave a little news for George
