Dear William
I am delighted to hear that the brougham is approved of as far as its appearance goes, & I hope it will stand the endless work it will have if it brings only help of Sara's American & English friends from the station. Lenny is up at this moment & we have been agreeing that you will soon have to build an additional wing to accommodate all your intending visitors. Down will hide its diminished head. Mr Pick takes away Lenny's crutch & promises smooth things that when he is well he will be quite well.
My best love to Sara who I have no doubt is enjoying the quiet of Basset after all the Porchester row
