My dearest Emma
Charles tells you every thing of your darling child but you wd like to hear any other impressions-–– we are waiting for Dr G's visit she has been sick again since 4 oclock when Ch closed his letter but is looking more comfortable & has seemed quite to like being turned on the other side. Her temperature is right & pulse about the same, but it is quite surprising that she should bear the vomiting so much better than she did 3 days ago I do not think her so emaciated as I expected, not so much I am pretty sure as Bro was in his illness She has looked about more today & her face has to my eyes a more natural expression-––extreme langor & prostration but no oppression about the head or eyes. She has just asked Miss Thorley quite loud something about her watch, but much of what she says we cannot make out from the roughness of her poor mouth—but I do generally make out the 'thank you' almost always— It is a blessing to see no suffering from the vomiting does not seem to be any now. dearest Emma how thankful I am to be able to be of the least use to Charles. he looks really not ill though sometimes of course most sadly overcome & shaken he has been two little walks today I do not try to prevent him doing a good deal about dear Annie it seems as if it was some relief to be doing something, tho' occassionaly it may be too much There is nobody to be pitied like you, but I know how much you wish to be able to bear for for Charles' sake. May God grant you both the life of your child.
your ever most affecle| FEW.
to 8 | Dr G. is now here there is a decided improvement in the tongue–-a most important point. pulse quick & sharp still but perhaps from a little brandy. Dr G. thinks the vomiting not so unfavorable—it is better under the circumstances than the matter being absorbed.
