From A. J. Munby to H. E. Litchfield 24 October 1881

10 Whitehall Place

24 Oct. 1881

Dear Mrs Litchfield

I am glad to hear from your husband that you have returned safe & well after a successful tour. I have been intending to send you the enclosed slip: I found the entry in the Register Books, where I was looking for some members of my own family: and I think any Erasmus Darwin must be of kin to you. But I shall be glad to hear if this Erasmus is. He is in good company, for this same book, if I recollect right, contains "Samuel, son of Mr. William Wilberforce, alderman": not the Samuel, but an ancestor of his.

I hope to have the pleasure of calling on you ere long: Sunday se'nnight I spent at Ockham with the V.L.s   I heard of you from them!

Believe me | sincerely yours | A. J. Munby

[Enclosure]

Entry of Burial, St. Mary's Church Low Gate, Kingston upon Hull.
