My dear William
This is not an answer to your letter which I mean to consider more leisurely— but only to say that I do not mean to read Hen's letter to Frank until I have pretty well made up my own mind— I meant to send you her letter to me; but I can't find it— I think it was almost exclusively on the question of to what degree I should feel criticisms painful— I have sent on most of your letter to Leo— who is wise & moderate. I can perceive that your letter somewhat simplifies my decision & I quite sympathize with your feeling of what is right for you to do in the matter
yours my dear W. | E. D
