My dear George

Great events having been going on with me since you went away. I am going to be married to Miss Fraser, sister of Major Fraser RE. We have known each other for many years, with intervals of course, long ones some of them, in which we have not met. Now we have decided to fix it up forever. Her name is Bessie, but that of course could not be stood, and she is now called Bee. The thing had been brewing gradually for some time, when I found she was ging out to the Cape with her brother, and this brought things to a crises. Now all the plans are altered and ever her brother is not going.

I have been working hard for the Exam, and the work, and this affiar, made me quite seedy for a week or so. I hear there are several sappers going up so I am more than likely to get plucked. I am sorry for it, as I should have loked to have had the two years at Sandhurst quiet.

I have very little time to spare now.

Your affec brot. | L Darwin
