From Fanny Allen to H. E. Litchfield 3 November [1871]

Heywood—

Novr. 3d.

I thank you very warmly, my dear Henrietta, for your letter, & the Photos— I now begin in looking at Mr. Litchfield to know him, before, it was a name only— I thank him for the love he sends me, & I am better pleased to be known through you than, of myself,, & I am grateful to you for the share you have in it— Thank you also, for the pretty gracious way, you receive the bracelet  I would like to think, I shall be often remembered by you, & if I could I would often grasp your wrist affectionately, as it will be the business of the gift to do—

I hope you may be well enough tomorrow, to attend, & to enjoy the festival in honor of your marriage—it will be a nervous thing—though a very interesting one— I am glad Circe will be there to aid you, & charm away all fear—

The weather is cold for the Surrey Heights, for your father! but I trust the rest will do him good, & that is of more importance than the cold—

Adieu my dear Henrietta—you must remember me gratefully to your '"daily worker.—who is all the happier for his daily tast

Affectionately Your's ever, | Fras Allen—

I have just recd. a very fine dish of grapes, ripened without fireQQQQ, from Miss [Robson]—and a branch of Stephanotis—the child of [fine] heat, which perfumes the room—
