Sunday night
Dearest H—
I shall like much to hear how you found poor Laura. I fancied somehow that she wd not have broken down after Edward's death. (I think the necklace £4^.^10 v. handsome & have kept it & returned the other & earings: I suppose they will give me a case for it to shew it off—it looks so m better upon velvet)
We have had 2 fine days together & I quite enjoy going out again— I went down yesterday to order cases for the pictures; & could not find the Green Scotch song book— Hayley's life of Cowper is the only book I shd care to have & I have offered it to L. H. P. There is a nice edition of Lady of Lake & Lay of last Minstrel—
Bernard came home in the best of spirits & told us about the one Horseguard he saw w. a Mackintosh on—
Marianne told me she waited nearly an hour in Langham Place, thinking she was in Waterloo Place! however Langham Place was quite the right place to see them generally.
Leo. & Fr. took a long walk to Chelsham today, & this p.m. Leo. walked to Cray—
I should think the Miles family wd gladly go to Caverswall if they get the offer. £15,000 will make a very perceptible difference in the 3 brothers income.
We have settled to go to No 6 on Tues. Dec 7—till Sat. & I have entreated Mr Woodhouse to make me a new frame in the time; but I don't suppose he can— I am sorry Rosamond does not come on Sat—
We have not invited Ithel; & he wd spoil any party; but we must have him soon. I was glad to be able to ask Camilla by herself; but I am not sure that I will not invite Mr Pattrick for the 2 last days—
