From Emma Darwin to Leonard Darwin [mid March 1867?]

Tuesday

My dear Lenny

I suppose you will see Hen. tomorrow at Mr Woodhouse tho' I suppose your hour will be later than hers. We will send you your skaits today. It is provoking they were forgotten.

Thank Frank for today's pleasant letter. Papa has been very well these 5 days. My cold keeps me in & poor Skimp has fallen back so I have not much hopes of school. I have very little to tell you.

Poor Louisa seems comf. at her school & I can never be thankful enough to hear that the Mrs does not know a word of French or German so that the poor little woman's short comings will not be perceived I trust.

Nelly is still poorly & we are thinking of taking up Billy for use. We have some lovely Hyacinths & the stew pan looks pretty. I will send you a letter of Wms in a few days.

Goodbye my dear Old Man.

yours E. D.

Mr Ward won't ask Frank anything about the book I feel sure.— He must say he did not hear much about it.

I shall want another toothy letter.
