From Emma Darwin to Leonard Darwin [early March 1882]

he is gone with Mr Prothero, who is one of the pleasantest men here, & his little wife is equally nice, Frank is too busy preparing his leactures to be able to go— The lectures are his own private sentence I think, as the authorities (whoever they are) have not confirmed Mr Michael Foster's plan— I shall enjoy seeing all the curiosities you have picked up— I hope you will be able to come straight to us on your arrival— Your father seems to have recovered wonderfully from such a severe illness— I trust you will find him as well as usual— I don't believe you will find Bernard a bit altered except in height— Bessy enjoyed her tour very much all but the last disastrous fortnight, when she had Laura at hand to advise her what to do— Now I have written enough so Goodbye my two dear ones for a short time

yours E. Darwin
