From H. E. Darwin to Emma Darwin [c. 1853]

My dearest Mamy

I am quite well and very happy. Today there are going to come Watmans Wickhams and Henrietta and I believe we are going to have a picnic. I suppose you know that Lizzy has left her book. Yesterday we went a walk with Henrietta up to the tower and had very good fun. I tried to get into Toty's and Gitty's bath in the way they did which is to tumble in but dare not. I did some musick this morning.

I am | your | affectionate | Etty Darwin
