From H. E. Darwin to G. H. Darwin [August 1871]

Dear George.

I guess this will be my last letter as H.E.D. The marriage has advanced day by day—until it now stands for Aug 31st.—think of me then— I haven't anything t says t you. I know you & Frank wish me every possible good wish. My dear boys—you have been such a happiness t me both of you. It feels rather like dying, so I like t say this to you, I do care for you so much. I've got a heap of faults. but I can care for people. & if I'm married 100 times over you will always have my truestQQQQ love thro all your lives—

Goodbye dear George & dear Frank—forgive me all the times I've been cross & selfish & bothering—

you ever loving | H.E.D.
