From H. E. Litchfield to G. H. Darwin [29 November 1874]

2 Bryanston St | W.

Dear Geo.

Here is old Pouts. It is a capital letter. I kept it one day to read to Uncle Ras & have just come back from Qu. Anne— It is a good read to go right thro' it.

Uncle Ras is wonderfully better & looked qu. cheerful & didn’t cough once. F. Galton came in & said he was down at Greenwich (?) for 3 hours with Gen Strachey seeing about your map. He says the delay is Strachey's fault not his. The machinery is to be too cumbrous & they are going to try another plan. Mrs Galton is quite out of danger & better. I hope you are well. I am v. busy with Steeles & Jukes.

yours | H.E.L
