From F. M. Balfour to G. H. Darwin 8 November 1876

Trinity College | Cambridge

Nov 8. 76

My dear George

Cecil has written to me to the effect that he thinks the methods proposed for determining the mean height of the tide too elaborate—

Can anything simpler & yet fairly efficacious be proposed.

I hope you are getting on better, & will be able to come back to us soon.

Like the remainder of Cambridge I am suffering from a bad cold.

Yours ever | F. M. Balfour
