From Emma Darwin to Horace Darwin 28 [May 1867]

My dear Horace

Poor Old Lenny what a walk he had on Sat. I will send for his watch & bring his best clothes. Remember tomorrow at 3 o’clock at Mr Woodhouse. Also we will ask Spengle about bathing but he will have little temptation as yet. We had great fun at Cambridge & I quite intend that you two boys shall go there the first time you are at home & Fr & G. there. It is a charming place & the weather was very decent for 2 of the days & dreadfully indecent for two others.

We cannot quite settle about your exeat as we don’t know how long Mrs F. Parker will stay at Eras. but I guess we shall go the week of Whit Sunday. Are you to be confirmed somewhere else this time or is it put off altogether?

The frost has cut almost our potatoes tho’ no doubt they will recover & all our new budded roses.

Papa is not very well & wants a week’s rest. I feel as if it was a long time since we have seen you but we will have a nice time in London & the beloved Kate if possible. G. was a good deal charmed with Amy Crofton.

yours my dear old man | E. D.

Answer my question about confirmation.
