Wednesday
Dear Jim—
I’m very glad to hear that you intend to come up here. I think you had better come next Monday week, that is about the 25th. I think—& then if you stop till Thursday mg. you be able to see two nights of the boat races & the A.D.C on Wednesday night—or if you may’nt stop till then you might see the boats one night & the A.D.C the other.—
There is a ball on Tuesday night but I’m not going & I don’t suppose you’ll want to—also there is almost certain to be a promenade concert in some of the college gardens—so that if the weather is fine there’ll be plenty to do. I have got you rooms in college (by the beautiful name of Jukes) so that you will save a good lot. For beds at the Bull are I believe to be 10s each on the ball nights. You’re tremendously lucky to get these rooms I can tell you— I didnt think you had a chance. —
I went and stopped from Saturday till Monday at a nice house about 8 miles from—with a banker called Mortlock—& had a good time. — I’m glad you like your new shop
