From Horace Darwin to Emma Darwin 19 May 1876

Basset, | Southampton.

May 19th 1876

Dear Mother.

W. is going on very well still. I think it very likely that he wont come home till Tuesday or Wednesday; as Dr. Osborn called this afternoon (not professionally) & he strongly recommended him to be very careful & not move too soon. He certainly improves every day. Ive just finished the wine having taken the whole day. Dr Lake comes to morrow. & I will write then

H Darwin

I enclose a letter from George wh. may amuse you it is about a bicycle race.
