From Horace Darwin to G. H. Darwin 24–5 October 1877

Down, | Beckenham, Kent. | Railway Station | Orpington. S.E.R.

Oct 24th. | 1877.

Dear George.

I think I shall come up to Cam. in about a fortnight, I will write a day or two before I come.

Would you mind asking Frank or some one to put me up for the bicycle club, as I should like to be a member when I come up so as to have a place to put my bicycle in when I get there, and it may take some little time to get in. I’ve got to do 2 or 3 days work at the dyn. and a little to do to the worm stone, I have ordered all the metal work & the stone is in the village; and I am going to Portsmouth for 2 nights before I come up. Are you still thinking of going to Madera? I think that I shall not be inclined to come, I vowed that I never would leave England again when I came back from Lucerne; I have always come back from abroad worse than I was when I went. I’m very glad to here that you are up to work again you must tell me about the inside of the earth when I come up. Mother got a letter from Richard saying that Hen had not been very well for the last few days, slightly feverish, if she gets worse Frank or I will go out.

Yours | H Darwin
