From Leonard Darwin to Horace Darwin [5 May 1873]

Dear Jim

As I have nothing to say I feel quite safe in writing. I expected you would have written to me like Bennet did beginning his letter with no other heading than “I say damn you why the devil dont you write.” I dropped that letter at home and the male parent was rather amused at reading it. This is the first Sunday I have been at home since the DAG, but I think I shall get away next Sunday. They have let me off most of my work here in order to photo which is very good of them. Do you know where the proof that {the number of coils round a post}2 X K gives the holding power. You may send me the proof if you like., cos I want it. Old Sillium was at home this Sunday very festive. Next time I have anythg to say I shall write Yours | Leonard D.
