From Leonard Darwin to Horace Darwin [5 June 1873]

Brompton Barracks, | Chatham

Dear Jim.

I find that I shall either come up on Sunday or Monday after–noon as I have to boss some heathen to worship on the holy Sabbath, and I dont know whether I can get leave for Monday morning. I shall try to get leave for Monday, Tuesd, & Wednesday, if that will not be trespassing too much on your valuable kindness.

I went up the river with some dry plates in the “Cumfy” and took several very nice photos, at least I think one of them will print. I think with a little more practice I shall be quite the dog at photography. Goodbye till you see | L. Darwin.
