Dear Jim
You see I have nothing to say by wasting so much time and space on the heading. When are you coming home I want to know, drat you, to make my plans. Or else you will find me gone back to Chatham for good. About them photos they were not much to boast of. But the fault was I expect in my working them up. I could not get the least shadow of anything out, with the ones I took at night. Abney is coming home someday and has offered to photo anything in the plant line and get them heliotyped at the S.M.E ie Chatham
Father has written to Smith Elder and Co about a second edition of the Reefs but has got no answer; I think he will see if Murray will do it if they wont.
I am going to write again soon | LD
