From William Marshall to Horace Darwin [21 April 1873]

8. Spa Buildings | Cheltenham

Dear Darwin

Thanks for yr. letter. I expect to be in cambridge for 4 or 5 days some time in May but can't settle the day yet. I am very glad London suits you, it is easier to go there than to Cannes.

My business here goes on as before  I have only varied my time by going off to see Tintern Abbey on Easter Sunday.

Can you conceive any reason for moths wh. flourish during the winter having the scales on their wings much thinner than most moths; this seems to be so & I don't see the reason for it.

Let me know if any alteration or addition to yr. plans takes place.

How is Bradshaw? Is Muggeridge up & does he flourish? | Yrs. very truly | b

P.S. Please thank Frank Balfour for ordering a microscope for me & say it suits me to a T.
