From Arther Myers to Horace Darwin [21 July 1873]

Hallstead | Penrith

Dear bounder

Send me a line to say how you are—can you do any work—shall you take your bicycle tour with Gerald  I hope you will—I think it would do you good.

I often think of that Sunday that the mole and I spent with you a month ago—it was a delightful day.

Where shall you be the rest of the Long— I shall stay hereabouts till the middle of August—then go to Ireland (Butcher & the mole) then to Brandon House Chelt. in middle of Sep—where some grind must be done.

My science does progress tho' slowly—I dont grasp electricity much—Jenkin or Deschanel  It seems to one one should wait till the thing is a bit more cleared up. Have you seen a book called "Foods" by Dr. Edward Smith. I fancy it is good. Your father doesn't want any sundwes or anything I can send does he?

yrs ever K.
