Dear George,

I will tell you about your paper, it was read rather late on, and Glaisher did not read quite all, there was not much discussion as it was a thing which could not be discussed but they buttered it. Haughton read a paper about the quantity of heat received from the sun & he read you paper over to himself before, & said that your paper was as an important paper as had ever been read at the B.A. or words to that effect and David Gill laid on the same sort of butter. I’m very glad your mathematics has turned out all right.

I’m staying here a day & then on to Bettws to stay with the Litches & then back to work. I’m much better & have enjoyed my time much. Mr. Easton considered me as his guest & paid my bill.

Yours ever | Horace Darwin
