From Horace Darwin to G. H. Darwin [22 September? 1877]

Hotel du Lac | Lucerne

Saturday evening

Dear George.

Just got your letter. It is sad about the rooms, one must hope for the best. I do’nt think there will be any need of you coming out, I shall stay till I see I’m not wanted & Eleanor may come out, I do’nt care how long I stay if I keep pretty well as I have no doubt I shall, I have been very well as yet. I may not come up till the end of Oct. of perhaps a good bit later I cant tell yet. I must be at home a bit when I get back & I dont know when that will. but please take any rooms you can get for me. Its very sad about Pouter. To return to your coming out, I feel pretty sure you wo’nt be wanted as I am here. I much better stay as the journey is so much the devil, & there is no more arranging to do till he goes home & a courrier could do that pretty well & I think Dr. Moor will come out to pilot him home. Hen keeps very well.

Yours | H Darwin

I cant get to Cam. till towards end of Oct I think so perhaps you could see about rooms best when you go up but do what you think best. I’m glad you have written to the tutors
