My dear Sir

We have seen a copy of your new book & fixed the price at 15/- but I am sorry to say, that if every copy was sold (1000) it would leave you in a loss of about £50.1

Yours faithfully | Robt. Cooke

Chas. Darwin Esq

In his letter to R. F. Cooke, 21 July 1880, CD had agreed to the terms of sale, and to cover for any loss, for Movement in plants.
