CD recorded a payment of £3 11s. 4d. to the London booksellers Williams and Norgate on 29 January 1860 (CD’s Account book (Down House MS)). CD engaged this firm in November 1859 to send presentation copies of Origin abroad (see Correspondence vol. 7, letters to John Murray, 15 October [1859], and to J. D. Hooker, [23 October 1859]).
