My dear Hooker

I am very sorry to bother you, but see what Lindley says about the Acropera luteola.2 What must I do? Can you tell me who named it?

Yours | C. Darwin

Dated by the relationship to the letter to J. D. Hooker, 25 November [1861].
Hooker had sent CD flowers of an orchid he identified as Acropera luteola. John Lindley, however, had informed CD that he knew of ‘no species so named’ (Orchids, p. 203 and n.).
