My dear Sir

I hope the enclosed note will be satisfactory to you, as far as it goes.² You see that he wishes to see as much M.S. as you can let him have.— When it comes to negotiation, remember my advice about disposing only of 1^st. Edit.³ He will probably offer to take risk & give you a certain share of profit of sales. I believe it is universally thought that M^r Murray can be quite trusted. You must remember that as yet your name is not known to the general public, which necessarily always makes a Publisher cautious.—

I heartily wish you all the success, which I am sure you deserve. If I can do anything whatever for you, it will give me real pleasure.—
