My dear Sir
Your paper was read at the meeting of the Linn. Soc. on Thursday last & Mr Bentham spoke afterwards “from the chair warmly in its praise” in warm commendation of it.2 Dr Hooker was unfortunately not able to be there, but he intends to read your paper in M.S.3
I shall write again before long.
I am yours faithfully | Ch. Darwin
